  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup full fat sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring (use more or less to suit your color needs)
  • For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, VERY soft
  • 2 ounces unsalted butter, VERY soft
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted (more if needed to reach preferred consistency)
